Surprise Finish to Game 2!
Despite a good effort by Warden and an amazing amount of beginner's luck by Kat and Erin, Patrick won by buying a victory point in the final moment of the game. Elaine had less fun than the rest of us, but she'll probably win some sort of award for finishing a game with three points, so it wasn't a total loss for her.

Wardo wins Game 1
Ryan Warden: 10
Ben (Ryan's Friend): 8
Keith Davis: 8
Elaine Davis: 8
Patrick Sewell: 7
A Ruling on the Rules:
The player can only win the game on his or her turn. If a player reaches 10 points on another player's turn (for example, by claiming longest road when the previous longest road is interrupted) or during a special building phase, that player cannot win until it becomes his or her turn. Also, the game ends as soon as someone reaches 10 points, so a player cannot continue to build after he or she reaches 10 points. It is possible to earn 11 points by earning longest road or largest army at the end of the game.

Round One - June
You've been invited here to share in the fellowship of Catan. We'll do several tournaments this summer. Our first one will last the month of June. If you want to partake, leave a comment saying so. Then I'll add you to the blog as an author.
The tournament will operate like this: play up to six matches during the month of June. After each game, post the results here. Each player will receive as points the points they earned in that game, and the winner will receive a five point bonus. You may play whatever type of Catan you like.
At the end of June, the four players plus ties with the most points will play a final match. The rules of this match will be decided by those players.
We'll see how this works, and we'll adjust as necessary.
